Left hook to the head
Power comes from the explosive rotation of the body. Body weight is transferred from the left to the right leg.

The arm is held relaxed with the elbow bent at an angle of approximately 90 degrees. Over the last few centimetres a whip like effect accelerates the punch to strike the target with maximum force.

For the basic left hook the palm of the glove faces downwards.

The right hand is held in a high position, a forward of the right shoulder ready to block a straight or hook counter.
